Rita Duffy

Rita Duffy studied at Belfast College of Art and Design from 1978, graduating B.A. (Hons) in 1982 and M.A. in 1986. She worked as a street artist in the United States in 1982-83 and as an assistant designer at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast from 1983-84.

The Ulster Museum commissioned Rita Duffy to paint a portrait of its former Chairman Dr D B McNeill in 1986. The Museum also has an autobiographical painting by Rita Duffy called Nuptual Grooming, showing the artist on her wedding day when she was artist in residence in 1994.
