Ivor Coburn

Ivor Coburn, is the current President of the Ulster Water colour Society. And a founder member (P.U.W.S.) Also a Founder Member of the Society of Botanical Artists (F.S.B.A.).


A seascape in water colour was accepted at the Royal Academy in London he has had successful one man shows in a variety of venues around Europe, and his works are held in public and private Collections world wide. Among his many awards are included 6 Gold medals from the Royal Horticultural Society for Watercolours of flowers and fruit. & The Perpetual Gold medal from the Royal Ulster Academy again for a water colour of a Wasp on a Begonia. All of these water colours being likened to a 'bee's eye' view.
A number of his paintings have been marketed world wide as prints both of Oils and Watercolours. E.g. Siamese cats, W. Colours. Monet's garden, Oils.


His works have been used in Illustrations in books on the technique of water colour painting and as botanical illustrations.
He is a former student of Belfast College of Art, and of Leeds University.
